First International Symposium Innovations in Life Sciences

First International Symposium Innovations in Life Sciences 26.08.2019

Dear colleagues,

The 1st International Symposium Innovations in Life Sciences will be held in Belgorod (Russia) on 10-11 October 2019 at Belgorod State National Research University (NRU “BelSU”).

The idea of this Symposium originated due to the establishment of a united Institute of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Biology at BelSU, which now facilitates exchange of views across disciplines, and to the dynamic development of Scientific Educational Center ‘Innovative Solutions in Agri-Business’ administered by BelSU, which was among the first five centers of this kind in Russia to receive state funding for further development.

We hope that the Symposium will give a good opportunity to exchange ideas and opinions for scholars in various fields of Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Food Technology and Veterinary Medicine. One of the main goals of the event is to highlight and foster the links between science, industry and education.

The Symposium is expected to bring together leading experts and young promising researchers in the following areas:

  • Contemporary biotechnology and microbiology for agricultural applications;
  • Genetic sources and selection of plants;
  • Search for new sources and characterization of biologically active substances;
  • Pharmacy: research, industry and education;
  • Advances in veterinary medicine;
  • Innovations in food technology.

The Symposium Innovations in Life Sciences will include plenary/keynote lectures and session talks, as well as poster presentations. We believe that the Symposium will provide a variety of opportunities not only for the exchange of ideas and expertise, but also for networking and cooperation among Russian and foreign research teams. In order to facilitate discussions, we plan to publish extended abstracts of presentations by the start of the Symposium. As a first edition, the Symposium intends to bring together primarily the scholars from the countries of post-Soviet space, as well as participants from partner institutions from other countries.

After the Symposium we plan to publish a collection of selected papers; the selection will be carried out on the basis of peer-review reports. We are interested in high-quality original materials, and thus are committed to ensure ethical conference standards, including inter alia strict peer-review and anti-plagiarism measures.
