General agriculture and herbology

The aim of the course is to provide basic knowledge of the factors that determine the yields of crops, their interaction and the methods for their most rational use and regulation. Based on and developing the knowledge gained from other disciplines, the methods of most effective maintenance and use of soil fertility and other agro-environmental resources are studied in the general agriculture and herbology course. The main subjects of the discipline are crop rotations and soil cultivation, as strategic units in the agricultural system, through which it affects not only the effective soil fertility, but also creates a background for maximum expression of intensive factors such as fertilization, irrigation and more.

The discipline also studies the factors with a negative impact on production - weeds and their control, erosion, waterlogging of arable land and others. Ways of compiling field and special crop rotations are also discussed in detail. The course in herbology includes the study of the problem of weeds - biology, morphology and harmfulness, as well as methods for their control in basic field crops and others.
