It examines the laws and principles of territorial placement and development of production and service industries and industries. Analyzes and assesses the factors and conditions for locating new objects and their rational functioning. It follows the ways of constructing a spatial structure of production in connection with the rational use of the natural, economic and social potential of the territory. It studies the formation, distribution and use of human resources on a territorial level. Examines the processes of migration and urbanization in territorial units.

Develops methods and models for studying economic processes in limited territory. It examines the formation, regulation and management of territorial units of different rank. It studies the state of the global economic problems of the world by individual regions and their impact on the development of the national and local economy.
