Technologies in Fruit growing in the tropics and subtropics

The aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge of the morphological and biological features, as well as the economic importance of fruit crops from the temperate, subtropical and tropical zones. Establishment of orchards and agrotechnical measures for their cultivation. Major crops from the temperate zone and from the subtropics and tropics are considered, as well as their cultivars. That is why 12 hours are allocated in the practical classes for the pomological description of the most important fruit cultivars. Fruit growing is related to the disciplines: protection of the fruit crops from pests and diseases, fertilization, irrigation, tillage and mechanized harvesting.
