Fruit growing in the tropics and subtropics

The aim of the course of Fruit growing in the tropics and subtropics is to provide students with knowledge about the cultivation of deciduous and non-deciduous fruit species according to the climatic and soil conditions of tropical and subtropical regions.

Fruit crops are considered by groups, and for each crop the following are presented: origin, agrobotanical characteristics, biological features, distribution and importance, methods of reproduction, creation and growing in a plantation.

The material is grouped by crops with similar characteristics, without repeating or duplicating the main temperate fruit growing course.
The practical classes are held in the Educational and experimental field of the department nearby the village of Brestnik and in the educational laboratories of the AU.
