Systems for control of the weed infestation in main field crops

The course of Systems for control of the weed infestation in main field crops studies the biological and ecological features of the weeds that infestate the main field crops, as well as their harmful effects on them. In the individual parts of the course, the students are introduced to the basic units of integrated weed management - precautionary and preventive measures, agrotechnical and agrophysical methods of weed control. The chemical weed control occupies an important place in weed management. The classification of the herbicides, the mode of their action, the rules, methods, technique and technology of application are also studied. A major section of the course is the study of the specific features of integrated weed control systems in cereals, certain vegetables and industrial crops, and in perennial legumes in real field conditions.
