Technologies for perennial crops production- part Viticulture
Viticulture is an applied science that studies and indicates ways to guide the development of the vine plant to obtain high, stable and quality grape yields. Through the lectures and exercises, the students in Agricultural Engineering will be able to obtain the necessary knowledge on vine biology, as well as on the planting and cultivation of the vineyards. Special emphasis is placed on the development of industrial technologies and environmentally friendly elements for production, due to the ever-increasing requirements for the realization of efficient, sustainable and safe production. Information will also be provided on the botanical, agrobiological and technological characteristics of the most important industrial rootstock and vine varieties.
Students will receive the necessary theoretical training in the field of industrial viticulture and will acquire the relevant practical habits and skills, enabling them to plan and control the industrial production of grapes and vine planting material.
