Perennial crops (part Fruit growing)

In the discipline "Perennial crops" (part Fruit growing), students receive the necessary knowledge about the morphological and biological characteristics of fruit species grown in the temperate climate zone, their requirements for environmental factors, production of planting material, the establishment of orchards and agrotechnical measures for their cultivation. Special attention is paid to technologies and cultivars suitable for organic production, as interest in this type of production is growing worldwide. The material is grouped into logically related topics, without repetition or duplication with other disciplines.

The lectures are held in the auditoriums of the AU-Plovdiv and are illustrated with multimedia, and the practical classes are held in the educational and experimental base of the department nearby village of Brestnik.
