The Centre for Cleantech and Biomass Resource Efficiency (CCBRE) at the Plovdiv Agricultural University is seeking an exceptional candidate for the position of Administrative and Financial Officer.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive administrative support to the ERA Chair, including coordination of schedules, documentation, and communication.
• Assist the Head of Transfer Operations and Outreach Communications with organizational and operational tasks to ensure efficient project execution.
• Oversee and manage the financial aspects of the project, including budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and maintain financial documentation required for periodic reviews and the final project audit.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and guidelines, preferably those relevant to EU-funded projects like Horizon Europe.
• Serve as the primary liaison for auditors and facilitate the preparation of audit materials at the project's conclusion.
• Maintain accurate records of project activities, budgets, and expenditures for transparency and accountability.
• Support the preparation and submission of grant proposals and progress reports in collaboration with project leaders.
• Coordinate procurement processes and manage contracts related to the project’s operations.

Requirements:
• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, project management, or a related field; a master’s degree is an advantage.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in project administration, financial management, or a similar role, preferably within EU-funded projects or research environments.
• Strong knowledge of financial management, including budgeting, expense tracking, and preparation of reports for audits.
• Familiarity with EU funding frameworks, such as Horizon Europe, including compliance requirements and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in financial software, accounting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); experience with project management software is an advantage.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload effectively, and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Bulgarian and English; additional knowledge of German or French is an advantage.
• Demonstrated precision in financial documentation and audit preparation.
• Ability to work closely with project leaders, administrative staff, and external auditors to ensure project success.
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving administrative and financial challenges.

Position Start Date
The position is available from June 2025 onwards.

Terms and conditions of salary
The starting annual salary is €1,900 per month for a full-time position, making a total of €22,800 per year.
