UNIgreen Welcome Day at AU
12.03.2026
On March 11, 2026, the Agricultural University - Plovdiv welcomed the new Erasmus students with an exciting Welcome Day. It sounds like a wonderful start to the semester! The event brought together Erasmus students from Portugal, Greece, Turkey, and Poland, as well as foreign young people from Greece and Turkey studying Bulgarian in their first year at the Department of Language Training and Sports (DEPS). Bulgarian isn't exactly the easiest language for beginners, so those students from Greece and Turkey definitely have a busy year ahead!
The participants in Unigreen Enter Days also joined the celebration.
They were all warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Dimo Atanasov, Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Affairs, who emphasized the importance of intercultural exchange and the role of the UNIgreen Alliance and Erasmus+ programme. After the official part, the students went on a campus tour. They examined with great interest: • The modern equipment at the base of the Department of Agricultural Mechanization at the Faculty of Viticulture, Horticulture, and Agricultural Machinery of the university • The new university building with its modern offices and laboratories • The training and experimental field, where practical classes are held outdoors. The day marked the beginning of many new friendships and a promising semester, filled with academic challenges and shared experiences.
The Agricultural University has a long-standing reputation for being a tight-knit community, so these students are likely in for a very "hands-on" experience in one of the oldest living cities in the world.
