INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE

"ANIMAL HUSBANDRY UNDER CONDITIONS OF GLOBAL CHANGE: SCIENCE, SUSTAINABILITY AND FOOD SECURITY"

The Department of Animal Sciences at the Agricultural University – Plovdiv is organizing an international scientific conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Zoo Engineering degree programme.

The forum aims to bring together researchers, academics, PhD students, university students, and industry representatives to discuss the current challenges and opportunities facing livestock farming in the context of dynamic global change, with a focus on sustainable development, innovation, and food security.

The forum will be held on 25–26 March 2027 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria and will include:

1. Scientific Conference with Thematic Sessions

• Genetic Resources in Animal Husbandry: Conservation, Sustainable Management, and Adaptation to Global Change 
• Nutrition, Breeding, Health and Welfare: Key Elements of Sustainable Production 
• Production and Processing of Animal Origin: The Path to Health and Consumer Confidence 
• Policies, Strategic Management, and Innovations for the Sustainable Development of Animal Husbandry.

2. Round Table Discussions

• National Endangered Breeds: Challenges in Preserving Genetic Resources and Directions for Sustainable Development 
• OMICS Technologies in Animal Husbandry: Challenges and Future Perspectives 

3. Cultural Programme

Papers and Posters: The conference programme will include plenary lectures, oral presentations, and poster sessions. The official languages of the conference are Bulgarian and English.
