AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY - PLOVDIV VALIDATED A JUBILEE POSTAGE STAMP

The Agricultural University - Plovdiv validated the first postage stamp in its history, which was made on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the University.

On 16th November, 2020, observing all of the anti-epidemic measures against COVID-19, in the Aula of the University the stamp was validated in the presence of not more than 30 guests.

The Rector of the Agricultural University, Prof. Dr. Hristina Yancheva, the Director of the Regional Department of Bulgarian Posts for the South-Central Region - Atanas Pechev, and the artist of the postage stamp, Nataliya Aleksieva, put the stamp, which is in the shape of wheat.

The postage stamp itself symbolizes all the professional fields of the University, with its modernity and classic symbols, and this turned out to be the biggest challenge for its author.

The special philatelic edition has a circulation of 6,500, the first 1,000 of which were purchased by the Agricultural University. With the assistance of Bulgarian Posts and the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, a Temporary Post Office was opened at the University, where the postage stamp was purchased with great interest from the guests.
