Agricultural Mechanization

The department of Agricultural Mechanization was established in 1945 with the establishment of the Higher Agricultural Institute, now the Agricultural University - Plovdiv. The first head of the department was Prof. DSc. Asen Katsarov, followed by Assoc. Prof. Prodan Boyadzhiev, Prof. Yordan Vakarelski, Prof. DSc Velyo Belyakov, Prof. Dr. Kolyo Kolev, Prof. Dr. Eng. Sava Mandradjiev, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Angel Triffonov, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dimitar Kehayov, and now Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stoyan Ishpekov.

The department is the main educational structure that provides training in the specialty of Agricultural Engineering, which offers training in bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees.

The department is located in a separate pavilion and has 10 classrooms and an auditorium, indoor and outdoor machinery. At the disposal of the students are tractors, tillage, and harvesting machines of world-famous brands.

With the available material base, information provision and personnel potential, participation in national and international projects, the Department of Agricultural Mechanization offers quality education.
