UNIgreen: Free AI and Cybersecurity Courses for University Staff
08.09.2026
These courses are for academic and non-academic staff who want to master professional cybersecurity and AI tools that boost their job competences:
- PRACTICAL INTRODUCTION TO AI FOR ACADEMIC AND NON-ACADEMIC STAFF 2nd Edition (16.09 - 21.10.2026) - Discover modern AI tools. A hands-on course designed to boost productivity in academic and administrative tasks. Rather than focusing on theory or complex technical details, it helps participants understand how AI systems behave, how to communicate with them clearly, and how to integrate them into real institutional and professional workflows.
- CYBERSECURITY INTRODUCTION FOR ACADEMIC AND NON-ACADEMIC STAFF (21.09 - 30.10.2026) - This is an introductory level course designed to enhance the practical knowledge and skills of academic and non-academic staff. The course focuses on the everyday risks affecting teaching, research and administrative work. Participants will learn to recognise phishing and other common cyber threats, protect institutional, research and personal data and use university systems, cloud services and artificial intelligence tools securely. The course also develops practical skills in cyber incident response and cyber hygiene, helping staff contribute to a stronger cyber security culture across the university.
- ADVANCED AI COURSE FOR NON-CODER (08.10 - 10.12.2026) - This is an advanced level course designed for students who have already completed the UNIgreen "Practical Introduction to Artificial Intelligence for Students" course or who possess verified equivalent foundational knowledge of generative AI tools (can be other students and staff too). It targets participants who wish to move beyond simple chat interactions to build automated workflows, leverage advanced data analytics, deploy custom knowledge assistants, and understand the technical and practical limits of multi-agent collaboration in academic and future professional settings.
- APPLIED DATA ANALYSIS WITH MACHINE LEARNING AND LLMs FOR STAFF (28.09 - 09.11.2026) - This course provides a practical introduction to data analysis, machine learning, and Generative Artificial Intelligence, with a particular focus on applications relevant to university technical and administrative staff. Participants will learn how to acquire, manipulate, analyse, and visualize tabular data using Python-based tools, and how to develop machine learning workflows for classification, regression, and clustering tasks. The course will then introduce Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI techniques for text analysis, semantic search, information extraction, and workflow automation.
